Miette Mountain Cabins receives mixed reviews, highlighting both charming cabins and significant shortcomings in upkeep and amenities. Recent feedback suggests issues with cost-cutting measures, limited supplies, and a lack of consistent maintenance, while also noting friendly staff and a pleasant location. Concerns revolve around cleanliness, value, and responsiveness to guest needs, with varying experiences regarding facilities and service.
Overall nice place, but has aggressive cost-cutting… The cons: - They watered down our handsoap. Like when you fill up a dwindling bottle with water to “extend the life”. Our bathroom handsoap was literally water. - The kitchenette has limited cookware and dishes. 2 forks, spoons, knives, plates, etc. Enough for a basic meal. They gave us a sponge cut in half. - The shower is the tiniest one I have ever seen. It was also rusty, with possible evidence of mold. It was kind of gross… - There was exposed, cut drywall, potentially from water damage or mold - There was a big spiderweb, so the room probably wasn’t dusted for a while before we came - The room was very drafty. The front door did not close flush - We booked through VRBO, paying all of the usual extra fees. When we got there, there was a SURPRISE extra extra “ammenity fee” per night. It felt kind of scummy, especially since the “ammenities” in question had so many problems and were so cheap. And also, they tell you beforehand about a $2/night EcoFee, but conveniently don’t tell you about the ammenity fee until you’re checking in The pros: - The cabins are super cute - The bed and pillows were very comfortable - The staff was very kind - There are some really great common areas! BBQs, firepits, and a nice gameroom - Overall quiet, some highway noise but not too bad
We spent a night in a cozy wooden cabin in the middle of the forest. Although the mosquitoes left quite a few marks on me :), it was an unforgettable experience. I even saw a large black bear right in front of me and had to run back to the cabin! At night, we sat by the campfire, joined some other couples, drank beer, and hung out. It was a wonderful time and a perfect place to rest and recharge.
This place is amazing, the location is great, between Hinton and Jasper, closer to Hinton. On the way to the ski mountains there's a bunch of wild life. The cabins are secure and offer a great experience. The lady at the front desk Inga, helped us with all our questions about the area. Definitely a place to go back. It's a 40 minute drive to the ski mountain but totally worth it.
Here at Miette Mountain Cabins, you’ll feel like Courage from “Courage the Cowardly Dog” because this place is truly in the middle of NOWHERE. The property has a bit of an identity crisis, it looks like a lodge from the outside, feels like an Airbnb on the inside, sits alone in the woods like a private resort… yet has no restaurant, no medical facilities, and no excursions available. The nearest and only food place is a 10 mins drive. We booked this place as it claims to be “in Jasper,” but it’s a solid 30-minute drive from the actual town along a completely dead highway. I was terrified the entire two nights we stayed here, convinced no-one less than Ed Gein or an el-chupacabra would show up at the door at any moment, or that the neighbours might decide we parked our car a lil into their side of the lot and come execute the adventurous couple. The only thing they had to offer was shelter, electricity and wifi, but the wifi would occasionally work and there was an electric outage for a couple of hours the last night. Not to forget the lodges are on the highway so it shakes your spirit when a truck passes by. Lastly, idk if i’m spoiled or what but the TV wasn’t compatible for Netflix/Youtube. So there is nothing to do outside or inside. The picture speaks for the flimsy door lock they had. If you think this review too harsh. I dare you to stay there one night. bye.
Checked in to be told my original booking of Panebode had been upgraded to Deluxe Log Cabin, this was very welcome news! The cabin was lovely and cozy, come with everything you need to make your own food aswell as a real fire place that worked based off room temperature! Approx 30 mins to Hinton for supermarket if you wanted to make own food or 40 mins to Jasper town for restaurants/smaller food stores. Loved it!!
The cabin we stayed in was cute, very clean, and intimate. Would have enjoyed a real firepit, but with the risks of wildfires I understand the reasoning. It was a little inconvenient if you wanted to do touristy things in Jasper, but perfect if you are hiking in area or doing hot springs. Can hear the highway but views make up for the lack of silence. Loved having coffee on front deck with the amazing views. Staff were friendly and quick at resolving issues (our patio light was out and they quickly fixed it, and we ran out of coffee, so the gave to us immediately).
We stayed in mid-October and it was absolutely beautiful. The loghouse was so cosy and warm, with everything you could possibly need on site. There’s a playground outside, a games room with tons of games, and you can even borrow DVDs with cartoons or films for a cosy evening. The coffee machine with complimentary drinks/cookies and washing facilities were excellent. The staff were top class, so friendly and helpful. Out of all the places we stayed during our long trip across two national parks, this was our absolute favourite! We would absolutely love to comeback!
I wasn’t actually a guest but was staying up the road at the campsite and my car broke down in front of the cabins. The staff were instrumental in finding a solution, especially Kartik and Aditya. They drove me up to the campsite to sleep for the night as as was without a car then came back for me the next morning to collect my stuff and then assisted me to call AMA, offering me coffee whilst I waited. Beautiful facilities too, I walked around whilst I was waiting. Incredible customer service to someone who wasn’t even a customer. Above and beyond. I will definitely stay there next time I visit Jasper.
Me and my husband had a really nice time there and it had the cute and cozy cabin feel that we wanted only thing was the beds seem a little small yet seems like it could have bigger beds because there was a fair bit of room for that. Other than that no issues, shower was nice and hot and was pretty cute and cozy set up and liked the fire pits/community area and is in a good location only 30 minutes from jasper and on the same road as the hot springs. We will definitely come back! Also the staff was super friendly and helpful! Thank you for a really nice time
The first impression of the cabins was great. The small houses look really cute from both the Inside and outside. Unfortunately, on a second impression there were some downsides. The mobile reception is quite poor out here. We had this at more places, but there it was made up with great wifi, but at the mountain cabins the wifi was far below par. Reception is bad and the signal keeps dropping. Furthermore, we could not understand that maintenance to the hot tub was performed in the high season... The highway is just around the corner, which is also noticeable in terms of noise. Also the kitchen equipment is quite minimal. On the positive side, the reception does offer quite some hiking and biking stuff to be borrowed for free, and the kids did enjoy the swimming pool. Also the famous Hot Springs are just around the corner.
