Glacier View Lodge offers a stunning location with glacier views, modern rooms, and a convenient hub for exploring nearby attractions like the Athabasca Glacier and Skywalk. However, recent reviews highlight issues with inconsistent service, logistical challenges with luggage handling and phone communication, and a disconnect between advertised views and actual room experiences.
As mentioned that they have a luggage assistance service from parking lot which is quite a problem First, they don’t pick up your phone secondly they refuse to take luggage before 4 pm when I repeatedly request as we are party of six (2 room)with seniors, they told that nobody is at the counter as soon as somebody will come, will help you out and finally the lady at parking lot helped us. I fell down on the bridge during this process of moving luggage. The coffee machine was out of order unfortunately, all restaurants close after 6 PM except one fine, Restaurant you are very dependent of lobby coffee maker This lounge is ideally located with a very good view and spacious room, but unfortunately, due to negligence, the price they charge $600 per room doesn’t match standard. MOST IMPORTANT THEY DONT ANSWER PHONE. After booking, I called the property called many times and it was unanswered or AI assisted.
I managed to get a flat tire on my rental car. I called the rental company's roadside assistance, but they were absolutely no help and left me completely stranded with no spare tires either. ?Myles from maintenance stepped right in to save the day. He actually brought out a tire plug kit, found the puncture, and patched it up for me on the spot. ?Honestly, he went completely above and beyond his actual job to help me out. He was incredibly kind, reassuring, and just a total lifesaver during a stressful moment. Will not hesitate to recommend Glacier View Lodge for a comfortable and reassuring stay in a remote location!
I didn’t stay at the lodge but this is the gathering point to go to the Athabaska glacier. The facility has a fabulous outside deck with stunning views. Inside there is a cafe and restaurant, a Starbucks, gift shop, skywalk meeting point, bathrooms and ticketing area.
Our rooms well roomy, comfortable and well-appointed. The view from the lobby is fantastic, and the happy hour drinks and charcuterie board were a welcome surprise. Somehow we missed the fact that the hotel sits on top of a sprawling tourist center that hosts a gift shop and tours of the glacier. Very crowded, even in late September. The restaurants are shared by both hotel guests and the public, and were disappointing. Chalet is just a food court - very mediocre, and the "fancy" Altitude option had better food, but was a very spartan dining experience. In the end, glad we stayed here.
The concept of the hotel is promising, but unfortunately the execution falls short. For the price point, the service was especially disappointing.. some staff members were unprofessional and lacked basic courtesy, which really took away from the experience. It’s a shame, because with better training and attention to detail, this could be a great destination given the views.
After the icefield and skywalk tour it was AMAZING to just stay at the lodge which did not disappoint. Modern, comfortable and clean with open airy space. The lobby is unique and awesome with a massive window staring right at that glacier! The welcome reception was perfect to check in with some other travellers and get a free bevy. My room was looking at the glacier and that's the way to do it. For me I also loved the Nespresso coffee maker and taking my coffee in my private room with a view of Athabasca Glacier from the window - PURE MAGIC! Can't wait to be back.
It's hard to decide which is better at the Glacier Park Lodge - the view or the staff. Rooms were very comfortable and had nice high end touches like Dyson hair dryers and premium soaps and shampoos in the shower. A special shout-out to Llewyn on the concierge desk who went above and beyond to welcome us after a long day. The hotel is a relative oasis compared with busy main floor below. An evening complimentary cocktail reception was a nice way to relax except the staff's walkie-talkies kept going off very loudly. Overall, we would highly recommend the experience staying here!
The loft room is modern rustic style. Spacious with 3 queen beds. Equipped with two Dyson heater/cooler, a Dyson hair dryer, Nespresso machine, and hot water boiler. Rocky Mountain soap bath and body products. Mattress is extremely comfortable. This hotel could be rated a four star. They provide warm welcome and a reception in early evening with free cocktail, cheese and sausage. Another advantage of staying here is getting a fantastic view of the glacier around sunrise and sunset.
Staying at Glacier View Lodge was an unforgettable experience. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with panoramic views of the glacier right outside—it felt like being in the middle of a postcard. Waking up to such stunning scenery was the highlight of the trip. The food was exceptional, with every meal prepared beautifully and full of flavor. It added so much to the overall experience, and it was clear that a lot of care went into the dining. The rooms were also very nice—spacious, comfortable, and well-designed, with everything you’d expect from a high-quality lodge. They offered both comfort and warmth, which made relaxing after a day of exploring so easy. Overall, Glacier View Lodge combines luxury, natural beauty, and great hospitality in one place. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Following up on my previous review — shortly after, the front desk called to let us know we could join the hotel bus for both the Skywalk and Ice Walk if we wished. This response was greatly appreciated, and I want to thank the team for reaching out. That said, I’m not sure if this follow-up was prompted by my Google review. Regardless, my earlier comment still stands regarding how some front desk staff treated customers differently. The difference in attitude and service was noticeable and disappointing. -------------------------- I’ve stayed here before and had a good experience — in June 2024, I booked the Experience Package and had a memorable stay. This time, however, I only booked the hotel with the Pursuit Pass, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. After I booked, all rooms were sold out, so I had expected the same level of service as before. During check-in, the front desk staff member, June, was courteous and thorough with Caucasian guests — explaining details about the snacks, drinks, amenities, and booking the restaurant. However, when it was my turn, she rushed through the process, didn’t provide any information, and even forgot to give me my room key. I simply asked if it was possible to get on the hotel bus for the Icefield tour included in the Pursuit Pass, together with other hotel guests. During my last visit — even when the tour was fully booked — there were still many empty seats on the hotel bus, so I thought it was a fair question. Her attitude changed noticeably after I asked, and the interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. I hope the hotel can provide more consistent and respectful service to all guests, regardless of background.
